Nora Aboushady

German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS)

Nora Aboushady is a Researcher in the "Research Network Sustainable Global Supply Chains" project at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS), and Associate Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. She holds a Ph.D. from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). Nora is also a Research Associate at the Economic Research Forum (ERF) and the Euro-Mediterranean and African Network for Economic Studies (EMANES), and a Senior Research Fellow at the WTO Chair Egypt. She was consultant to a number of international and regional organizations including the World Bank, the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the Global Development Institute, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Trade. Her research focuses on trade policy, trade in services, global value chains, industrial policy, and social policy in Africa and the MENA region.
