Samuel Siewers is a researcher at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) and a PhD candidate at the Chair of Development Economics at the University of Göttingen. He holds a Master's degree in economics from Heidelberg University and a BA, also in economics, from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). His research employs quasi-experimental methods to study questions related to international trade, environmental policy and political economy.
