Jens Newig
Leuphana University, Lüneburg
Jens Newig is a Professor of Governance and Sustainability at Leuphana University Lüneburg. He heads the Institute of Sustainability Governance of Leuphana’s Faculty of Sustainability and is a member of the Center for the Study of Democracy. He holds a doctoral degree in Environmental Law from Dresden Technical University and in political science and systems science. His research interest is in inter- and transdisciplinary governance research. He has been leading an ERC project on the link between participatory governance and environmental outcomes and has been PI on several other research projects. He is currently (2024–2028) heading a consortium of four research institutions on the sustainability governance of global supply chains.
