Franca Bülow

Dr. Franca Bülow is a political scientist employed at Leuphana University, where she coordinates a research consortium on sustainability governance of global value chains. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on the intersection of climate change, resilience, and the governance of global value chains, with a particular emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her work examines how language and communication influence decision-making, combining storytelling, data analysis, behavioural change theories, computer-based linguistics, and stakeholder engagement to inform sustainable governance practices. With experience in both academic and private research environments, Dr. Bülow has also worked as a community builder and freelancer, translating research into practical solutions through citizen science and engagement processes. She is passionate about research impact and works to integrate knowledge across disciplines, making complex findings accessible and actionable.
